hornet bites!

We were at a friends b-day party
and the kids came across a hornets
nest that was buried in a
hillside.
Ellie just wanted her picture taken
pointing at her forehead as if she was
bit, but there is nothing there but
a cute face!

Ashlyn's pointer finger is pretty swollen!

Her ankle also got bit!

Tanner put a mud patch over his wounds.

He received 5 bites ranging from his thigh to his ankle!
Poor kids, they were tough though!

Goin' on a 'COON hunt!

Uncle Cody told us that there was some tracks in the corn patch,
so Sam set the trap with an egg and raisins. In the morning
the kids got up early and found this
enormous raccoon!

Ellie named him Jack! Perfect name for our
pet for a day. Later on we will drop him off
further in the country!

The cat in the hut!

Ellie is in the hut with her new baby, Comet!
(poor kitty, he puts up with a lot!)

Bean Hut!

Grandma Puzey left us with an
awesome hut that pole beans grow on.
The kids love to play in it and use
their imagination. It is a great hide out.

One action packed evening!

Ashlyn tries to get a ride on Tony as often as she can
She LOVES it!

Casey goes sappy on our kitty, Comet.
I hope he doesn't pucker up too
close to that cat's face or I might have a
problem with it!

Party with the cousins! It seems like it happens
about every night and they can't get enough
of it. They just want to stretch out the summer for
as long as they can! (Good for them!)

My first real project!

I actually finished a quilt project and had a blast! So I am moving on and being inspired by my cousin, Jen!

The First Day of School!

School started on 8/21/08.
The bus came at 7:55 a.m. & they were ready for take off!
You can't see me in the background, but I had a big smile on my face!

Ellie was ready for me to get her pigtails done and her backpack on.
She wanted to be like the rest of the kids, unfortunately for her
the preschool she will go to doesn't start for 2 weeks. But we love
the time we get to spend with each other!
